Greater Chicago Food Depository Corn Harvest – August 2015
Greater Chicago Food Depository Corn Harvest
August 20, 2015
Members of the SWP team volunteered with the Greater Chicago Food Depository (GCFD) by harvesting corn on a farm in Huntley, IL. Once the corn was harvested, drivers immediately brought it back to the GCFD warehouse where other volunteers repackaged it for distribution the following week. It was the ultimate farm-to-table experience for our neighbors in need. Last year’s harvest yielded 56,138 pounds!
